Would you allow a surgeon to cut you open to insert silicone breast implants, sew you up, all for the sake of having bigger boobs? The industry term is called augmentation. The reality is image brainwashing — women who feel they will be better loved or more beautiful if their bodies were only more perfect. As far as plastic surgery is concerned, 92% of all cosmetic procedures carried out in the U.S. are being done on women. Men seem to know better or are more grounded in their perception of their bodies and henceforth have greater self-esteem.
'The Doctors', a TV show that had originally aired in 2008 and which went off the air in Aug 2022, made me cringe. One episode featured a young woman who opted for augmentation surgery at the age of 25, only to have to return a decade later to have the silicone replaced. When the surgeons removed the first implant, it came out of her body entirely black. The mere sight of it was horrific and, the woman who had endured the surgery admitted that she became very upset.
It's hard for me to believe that anyone would willingly allow themselves to go under the knife for bigger boobs. "Why yes, of course, Virginia," said Santa Clause with the extra-long schlong, "I had penile extension surgery and now I drag all the way to the ground. Helps when I'm holding the reins on Christmas eve." Some men would be loathe to admit they wished they had bigger things between their legs. I am reminded of one male friend and his comeback when asked about the size of his tool. He replied with a glint in his eyes, "I have no problem delivering nine inches every time to the ladies." Ofc, I was pessimistic by his brash and bold statement. I didn't want to go so far as to ask him to whip out that monster of his and show me. But rather, I asked politely for an explanation. My friend just laughed and said, "Well, I've got six inches down below and the other three are here!" And with that statement, he stuck out his tongue. Bravo! His witticism took me off guard. A man who knows how to wield the weapon is a pro but one who adds the mystery of the tongue and its sensory powers is truly a hero.
Whether you are born pretty or just plain, short or tall, thin or meaty, your looks are a by-product of your inner beauty, that is to say the summation of your perception of yourself, not what someone else thinks. And if a man or woman lusts for you solely bcus of your looks, know that your beauty will fade (as does lust) and when the body sweat dries up, all you'll have left between you both is the ability to converse. Connection is conversation. Looks are like fresh fruit: nice to touch, pinch, squeeze - a necessary part of the choosing but after that first bite, however, you might think to yourself that was a tasty piece of fruit. What's for dinner?
I'm not in possession of perfect breasts, though I confess that push-ups surely help in keeping the girls upright, that and a spectacular bra. And regardless of how much money you have to throw at plastic surgery, your skin and body will age despite all efforts to the contrary. Why not be kind to yourself from the outset and accept who you are and what you have to offer? Someone out there will appreciate you exactly for that reason.
Upcoming Event I hope to make an appearance at the Ottawa Romance Book Fair, when a date is officially announced for 2027. This is a one-day event held at the Conference Centre, so check back soon for updates.
