Still

2025-05-26
Will he want me, still,
when I age and wrinkle,
pills and creams, foolish magic,
I think, to stave off the inevitable.

Will he want me, still,
and remain in morning,
when sleep corners my eye,
with ruffled hair in unruly style.

Will he want me, still,
when my flesh grows ill,
by his absence,
in my bed of after all?
