Regret

2025-10-13
I tipped back on my heels,
my balance wavering,
into a profound love
come calling.

I felt his heart changing
into a grateful being of demeanor,
now elevated higher,
by my tongue and relativity.

There is nothing more remote than regret,
like a lever, jinxing with my pleasure
and my past failures,
can still be tasted in my mouth.

I will never crawl back,
to any other
or long-forgotten bliss,
but only the man in front of me.
