I put one foot in front of the other, when I need to disembark from the bus, to get off. But when I'm in the process of getting off, my feet don't come into the picture. When my libido is pumped up, my feet aren't essential to this process... unless, of course, a lovely masseur with greased-up magic hands rubs my toes with gentleness in such a way that the rest of my body tingles. This too will aid toward the process.
"Getting off" is a pastime to which we'd all prefer spending our hours doing instead of taking out the garbage or washing up the dishes. Getting off means you're releasing pent up energy that has no where to go but back inside your body or more than likely to become stalled inside your head on the verge of implosion (or explosion; too bad for the recipient). Ask any anthropologist and they'll tell you that erogenous zones evolved as a bonus, to facilitate the process of procreation. I haven't ever wanted to procreate, other than the act of creating when I write, so I don't need to lean on the procreation justification to get off. But for some, it's the unforeseen pleasure, more so for those who clutch a Bible in one hand, and their personality in the other, and would rather you suppress these urges before you reach a certain marrying age when you can be properly hitched, before being brought off or handled, so to speak, just right.
The opposite of plain is pleasure. Pleasure helps to take the edge off pain. You can't be alive without feeling both senses, and sometimes there is more pain on a regularly basis than there is pleasure, which is why it's ever important for your partner(s) and yourself to spend meaningful time exploring each other's bodies to understand their pleasure zones. It takes practice to be able to get off without hiccups when in a relationship. I can't speak for the general populace as to how successful they are at getting off. I can only attest to my skill that has been cultivated to a stage of finesse, like edging as an example; taking your body to the very point when you're about to get off, only to halt, wait, and re-build momentum again, so that in effect you're edging as close to getting off as possible to prolong the ecstasy. I apply the tried and true method of dual action: imagination to fuel the erogenous zones plus a little touching and voila! The off becomes the gotten and the gotten is all about getting off.
More's the pity for those who exist in dead-end relationships where one partner no longer feels lust for their partner, and they remain in the union, for any number of reasons, like kids. Noble gesture. But is it really? It's a cry of anguish heard throughout the world. When you endure painful periods (bcus I don't know anyone in a relationship who hasn't experienced a period of lull in their lust), it's up to you to ensure that you're getting off for your sanity. Allow me to reiterate. Your body came into existence as a result of lust, and your body is designed with nerve endings, to feel pleasure which is one of the motivations for continue to exist, to feel alive, to enjoy those fleeting seconds whereby nirvana is tapping on your front door. Rest assured another day will come when everything won't go your way, and you may become frayed at the edges and unable to perform. Know that the power within you to get off at a later time will steer your boat back on course. You'll feel connected to the unifying force in the Universe: pleasure.
Pleasure and pain. Pleasure and pain. Would if I could to avoid every and all things that cause pain. Yet, in retrospect, I need pain because when I feel pleasure at the hands of another, or myself, it reminds me that pleasure is the opposite of pain, even if it lasts sometimes for a brief moment. I'll take it.
Nobody ever said that getting off would be as easy as eating that roasted hotdog. Though, I bet that at least one person chomping down on an elongated wiener has thought to themselves, "Hey, it's long... it's wobbly and winky... I wonder if..."
